Shaker Kitchen - Lincolnshire

The Carr Farm Project

The clients, a married couple with busy professional lives and a bustling household of five, plus their beloved dogs, sought a bespoke kitchen design that would be both functional and timeless, complementing their life in the countryside. Their vision was for a traditional kitchen that would exude warmth and charm while providing the practicalities needed for their active family lifestyle.

The Brief

The Edwardian door profile with its single quirk detail on the in-frame cabinetry provides a timeless look, enhanced by the polished nickel handles from Armac Martin’s Bournville collection, which add a subtle touch of luxury. The colour scheme contrasts beautifully, with the main kitchen area painted in Little Greene’s French Grey, offering a serene and sophisticated backdrop, while the island and pantry, in Farrow & Ball’s Downpipe, introduce a striking depth. This clever use of colour delineates the space, adding visual interest and warmth. The tall larder units conceal a hidden walkthrough pantry that is both a design and functional highlight. Inside, open shelving with recessed lighting provides ample storage and easy access to essentials, while crate drawers keep food goods fresh with excellent air circulation. The inclusion of a sink in the pantry adds a level of practicality, making it easy to clean and prepare items away from the main kitchen area. High-end appliances, including Fisher & Paykel refrigeration and Lacanche cooking equipment, ensure that the kitchen meets the demands of a busy household, providing efficiency and reliability.
